This is my finished poster for my newspaper. I decided to create a poster advertising the paper having a bumper christmas issue. I looked at a poster from the news as an example and it was an advertisement for the 'days out' guide so i decided to follow example in order to make my poster look more realistic and that it could be used. I decided to use my whole image as the background because it makes the poster seem more 'full' and 'busy' and interesting for the reader and avoids having blank space.
I've now completed my website and published it to the intranet, ensuring all hyperlinks are working.

I've now added the picture to my main article page and the picture looks alot more appealing for the reader and really make you focus on the person in the image, rather than the surroundings.
I've now added a hyper link on my homepage, when the user clicks on the the particular stories headline it directs them to the page i've made with the full story and picture on.

I decided to crop the image i'm using on my website because the orginal picture seemed like it had alot of photo that wasn't in use, and was un-needed. I decided to crop how wide it is so that the image focuses on the person in the image instead of the surroundings. I also decided to crop it in order to take the 'South Downs College' logo out due to if this story was real the college would have to agree to have the logo in the story but this story may give readers a bad impression of the college.

I've now started making my second page of my newspapers website. I've decided to use the exact same layout as the homepage but the middle section has one main story instead of many little ones. The reason I decided to do this was after I looked at many different example websites I saw that its all in the same format/layout (each page) and its just the stories that change. I've made a hyperlink on my homepage so that when the user clicks on the 'student caught with cocaine' header it directs the user to this story.
I've now produced my finished website homepage. I decided to ask for feedback from various different audiences and they all seemed to like the layout because it was kept simple. The other negative feedback that I received was that there were too many links at the bottom of the newspaper so with this feedback i decided to remove the 'services' section. I also decided to add an advert at the right hand side of the website because another bit of feedback i also got was that there are usually more adverts on a local newspaper website.
After looking at various newspapers websites i've also seen that many of the sites have links at the bottom of the page, these links are other ways of getting round the site and also some lead to external sites. So i made sure I added this feature to my site.
I've now added placed the pictures onto the website and added the header along with them, i've also added a slight sum up of the stories.

These are the pictures i have deicded to use on my webpage, i'm going to put headlines next to them and then a sentence to sum up what the picture and headline is about, so it basically sums up the story. Most newspaper websites have there stories like this so you can see what various stories are about and then click on the one you find most intriguing and want to read. The headlines are going to be as follows
-'Student caught with cocaine.'
-'Marwell Zoo's world class attraction.'
-'Portsmouth's night club crack down.'
I've now added the tab to my header and also below i've added the date and also a 'log in' and 'register' sign. I've added this because most newspaper websites have this option to enabled readers to make accounts with them and get updated with the latest news via email etc.
I've created this tab to place under my header of my website, this is the navigation side of the website to enabledcustomers to get from one section to another. I've also added a search bar to enable the customers to search for a specific story they want to read about in order to save them from looking round the whole site for it. I decided to add this tab because its a key feature of any local newspaper website.
After looking at other newspapers websites i've now started creating mine. I'm using a programme called iweb which allows me to make the pages as well as insert hyperlinks to link the pages. Above is my website header, i thought i'd add a header because all the newspapers websites i've looked at have the name of the newspaper at the time along with their tagline and logo. Websites also include adverts which are similar to the ones included on the actual newspapers but they make the adverts more interactive, for example because able to click on say a car dealer-ship advert and it takes you straight to the car dealer-ship's website. I've included this on mine but using the same advert i've used on the front page of my newspaper but i've changed the text so that the readers can click on the advert and fill in and online form to enter etc which makes it more interactive.
